GENERAL HOSPITAL OF THIRA - PROFILE


The general hospital of Thira is a health care unit of Α.Ε.Μ.Υ [Health Units SA] and is under the supervision and control of the Ministry of Health, operating daily for the Cyclades Prefecture. 

The General Hospital of Thira started its operation in July 2016 and is equipped with state of the art equipment and staffed with experienced scientific, medical and nursing personnel. 

The Hospital is comprised of the following services: Administration, Medical, Technical and Nursing.

The Hospital’s Emergency Unit operates 24 hours daily, twelve months per year, while the Outpatient Offices department operates Monday to Friday, in the mornings, handling cases pertaining to more than 12 medical specializations.

As well as the fully equipped:

The total number of beds in the General Hospital of Thira is 44. 

The Hospital has a capacity of 32 beds in the pathological and surgical units, 5 beds in the Infarction and Intensive Care Unit for the handling of cardiology cases, 5 beds in the Artificial Kidney Unit and 2 beds in the Short Hospitalization Unit. 

The General Hospital of Thira has a General Surgery room for scheduled surgical cases, two labor rooms and a septic surgery room in the Emergency Unit. 

The Emergency Unit of the General Hospital of Thira operates 24 hours per day, every day, 12 months per year, with the support of experienced doctors and nursing personnel.

The aim of the General Hospital of Thira is to provide high level health care services to the inhabitants and visitors of the island.
